Kyrie Irving: ‘I Failed Miserably’ During Celtics Run

June 26, 2024 by The Spun

Gather around everyone. The newest NBA meme just dropped, courtesy of Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Kyrie admitted that he “failed miserably” during his two-year run with the Boston Celtics from 2017 to 2019. He admitted that he didn’t know how to accept failure or even handle success.

“I failed miserably, while also not knowing how to compartmentalize or accept the emotions that come with failure,” Irving said, via The Athletic. “And also being on the successful side, (I) didn’t know how to handle that either.

“Thinking about my time in Boston, I could go down a myriad of things that none of you in here know that I was dealing with, and I don’t think a lot of people would care,” Irving said.

“I think a few people would care and want to hear about it, and I would leave that space open in the future if you ever want to hear about it.”

But while that might have been a legitimate moment of introspection from Kyrie, Bleacher Report’s graphics department smelled blood in the water and quickly released their new creation that’s probably going to be a meme template for years to come.

Fans in the comments immediately realized that there was a new meme template on their hands:

“This graphic gonna be used a lot,” one user replied.

“This Graphic is gonna do some major numbers,” wrote another.

“New meme just dropped,” a third declared.

Yes it has. It has indeed.
