Kevin Durant Has Bold Message For The Boston Celtics

An Eastern Conference rivalry is beginning to emerge by way of Team USA connections. After today’s bronze medal game between Australia and Slovenia, U.S. superstar Kevin Durant celebrated with his new teammate Patty Mills, who signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week.

Leading the way for the Boomers, Mills dropped a staggering 42-points en route to Australia’s first ever Olympic basketball medal.

Durant was taking a video with Team USA assistant/Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka when Mills ran up and pushed the rookie head coach out of the way.

“Get outta here, man. That’s my teammate,” Mills joked.

“There’s gon’ be problems for the Boston Celtics this year!” Durant yelled with his new teammate by his side.

Off camera, Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum responded to that claim.

“[Expletive] outta here,” he said.

“We know how to lock Patty [expletive] up,” Udoka added.

In Team USA’s gold medal victory over France last night, Kevin Durant led the way with 29 points on 50-percent shooting. Tatum followed closely behind with 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds, helping the U.S. to its fourth straight Olympic gold.

While this rivalry may be friendly right now, it’ll certainly heat up again during the 2021-22 season.

Durant and the Nets took down the Celtics in five games through last year’s first-round playoff series. With Udoka now at the helm and Tatum improving every year, Boston will look to put up a better fight in the Eastern Conference this coming season.
