This is the first time this season Mazzulla has won the award .

For the first time this season, Joe Mazzulla has been named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month alongside Mark Daigneault of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the West.

Mazzulla wins the award after leading the Celtics to a 14-1 record in the month of March.

This is the 4th time in his career that Mazzulla has won Coach of the Month, passing Brad Stevens for second on the all time list, only behind Doc Rivers who won the award 6 times.

Joe Mazzulla has been named East Coach of the Month for the 4th time, passing Brad Stevens into 2nd place among Boston’s COTM winners. He needs two more to catch Doc Rivers.

Joe Mazzulla is starting to cement himself as one of the best coaches in Celtics history this season and could be put into some serious conversations with another championship.

If you ask Joe his opinion on the award however, you’ll probably get this as an answer.
