It seems there will be no reunion between the Boston Celtics and shooting guard Javonte Green, with the former Celtic opting to rejoin the Chicago Bulls on a two way deal for the coming 2021-22 NBA season according to ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
There had been considerable speculation that Boston might be planning to bring back the Virginia native after having dealt him away to the Bulls at the 2021 trade deadline in a three-team deal primarily focused on cap concerns and moving big man Daniel Theis’ contract. A post by Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum on Instagram that hinted at such a possible move sparked the speculation, but this signing seems to have put it to bed at least for the present.
Green is a good friend of the St. Louis native and a capable option off the bench who never grumbled about his varied role with the team, and would make sense as a depth option for the Celtics.

But, that will have to wait if it ever materializes with this news from Wojnarowski.
