After a mediocre first season with the Boston Celtics that was really better measured in weeks than months, veteran guard Derrick White has taken his game to new levels in 2022-23.
A quiet member of the team in everything he does save for his play on the parquet, it took time for White’s contributions to Boston this season to register with head coach Joe Mazzulla enough to get him in the game in key moments. Now, the Celtics seem comfortable with the Colorado native starting and closing games depending on the matchup.
White has been the team’s best scoring option over many sequences this season, and he even was the Player of the Week because his offensive game has been so good of late.
