How the Boston Celtics maintain their current roster

June 29, 2024 by Celtics Wire

The Boston Celtics have arguably the most talented roster in the NBA. They have size, scoring, ball-handling and elite defenders at every position. As such, Joe Mazzulla has instilled a dynamic offensive and defensive system, allowing the Celtics to utilize the talent and depth available to them. That system led the Celtics to the 2024 NBA Championship.

Now, Brad Stevens is tasked with maintaining the elite talent level on the Celtics roster as we head into the offseason. He is expected to offer contract extensions to Derrick White and Sam Hauser. Jayson Tatum is supermax eligible and will likely ink a new deal this summer. Instead, the hard work will occur on the back end of the roster, as Stevens looks to add talent while dealing with the restrictive second apron restrictions.

In a recent episode of WEEI’s “Gresh & Fauria,” the hosts discuss how the Celtics can build out their rotation to maintain the versatility and depth that made them such a dangerous team this season.
