We’re mere hours away from Game 1 the 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks. Just about every analyst is scrambling to get in their final prediction and Dick Vitale is no exception.

Taking to X on Thursday, Dickie V declared that he’s going with the Boston Celtics in six. He highlighted the return of Kristaps Porzingis in his prediction.

“Tonight game 1 ⁦ @celtics ⁩ host the ⁦ @dallasmavs ⁩ in @NBA FINALS WITH PORZINGIS back my VBDI says Boston in 6 . via @ESPN App,” Vitale wrote.

The Celtics enter the series having lost only twice in the Eastern Conference playoffs and swept the Indiana Pacers in the Conference Finals.

The Mavs had a slightly tougher time getting through the Western Conference playoffs, dropping two games each to the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder before beating the Minnesota Timberwolves in five.

Both teams have starpower abound with the Celtics having Porzingis, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as their big three. The Mavs might have the two best players in the series though with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving as the core of their team.

The stars are aligning for a great series and we can’t wait to see it.
