The Boston Celtics took on the Washington Wizards for their 82nd and final game of the 2023-24 NBA regular season. And while the retirement of Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Gorman stole the show, it was a surprisingly strong game from Boston’s bench mob, with both the Celtics and Wiz resting several key players.
The Celtics came away with their 64th victory of the NBA’s 2023-24 season with a 132-122 win over the Wiz that was actually close early, then blown open by Boston in the second half. A career night from Payton Pritchard (38 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists) stood above the rest, but several Celtics had great to good games in the win.
Svi Mykhailiuk (26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), Sam Hauser (16 points, 5 boards), and Luke Kornet (11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) stood out among the starters, and Neemias Queta (19 points, 9 boards, 6 blocks) held down the bench.

Now, the Celtics and their fans must wait for the play-in tournament to decide who their first round opponent will be in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
The first round kicks off on April 20, and Boston will have home court advantage for as far as they manage to get in the postseason.
