The Boston Celtics traded Josh Minott to the Brooklyn Nets. The move came after Boston dealt Chris Boucher to the Utah Jazz earlier in the day.
Minott, 23, signed with the Celtics during the offseason after beginning his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He started 10 games early in the season and appeared positioned to become a regular contributor.
The high-energy, athletic wing played hard during the first significant minutes of his career. However, Minott fell out of the rotation in recent months, including a lengthy absence on the injury report with an ankle sprain.
He averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 33 games with 10 starts for Boston this season. Minott will receive an opportunity for playing time in Brooklyn.
The Celtics opened another roster spot by moving Minott. Boston already filled one opening by agreeing to sign Amari Williams to a two-way deal.
