The Boston Celtics embedded reporter panel consisting of Taylor Snow and Marc D’Amico has handed out the last of their six team-specific end-of-season awards, with the two-man panel giving All-Star forward Jaylen Brown their Celtics Most Improved Player (MIP) award for the 2020-21 NBA season.
That it is not his first time — nor even his second — winning the award in the last four seasons speaks volumes about Brown’s work ethic over the course of his career as a Celtic. “But for a man who lives by the motto of ‘Faith Consistency Hard Work Pays Off,’ such an accomplishment is almost to be expected, as the act of improving is what Jaylen Brown is all about,” writes Snow.
In 2020-21, the Georgia native put up 24.7 points, 6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 39.7% from deep the season after registering career-highs of 20.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

If there is any competitor for the award this season, it would have been big man Robert Williams III, but even for all Timelord managed to do to spruce up his own game, it paled in comparison to the leaps Brown took in 2020-21.
