Legendary play-by-play broadcaster Mike Gorman is retiring this season after 43 years of calling games for the Boston Celtics. In that time, he built a lasting impact on his peers and admirers, and Celtics Wire has talked with the people who have gotten to know Gorman best over the years to share their memories and best wishes.
In the fourth edition of the series, we spoke with two people who work for the Celtics organization itself as members of their public relations team. Jeff Twiss has worked in media relations for the team for over 40 years, and like other folks we’ve talked to, Twiss has gotten to see Gorman’s rise from plucky broadcaster to institution.
His colleague, Taylor Snow, is newer to the scene, but as a Massachusetts native, grew up with Gorman calling games on the television. Snow has grown from a Gorman fan to a colleague, offering another unique way to appreciate his long career on the Celtics sidelines.
