Sam Hauser has been ruled out with a right ankle sprain, while Kristaps Porzingis is available.

BOSTON — The Celtics will be without Sam Hauser for Game 2 against the Knicks. But, Kristaps Porzingis, who left Monday’s game against the Knicks with a non-COVID illness, is available to play.

After Tuesday’s film session, Joe Mazzulla said that Kristaps Porzingis has been dealing with the lingering effects of an illness that kept him out of 11 games this Spring. He returned to the lineup on March 15th,

“Since he came back, he’s kind of been dealing with it — working through it, fighting through it, doing the best he can,” Mazzulla said. “And I think it was just too much for him in that game. He had been working through it since he’s gotten back, and he’s done a great job of being available. It was just hard for him to continue yesterday.”

Kristaps Porzingis remains probable.

Will he have a minutes restriction?

Sam Hauser will miss his first postseason game with an ankle sprain

Sam Hauser missed his first game with a right ankle sprain suffered on Monday. He was at shootaround Wednesday, going through form shooting. He had a sleeve on his right calf.

Joe Mazzulla said he remains day-to-day.
