Max Strus was a key contributor for the Miami Heat during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Strus only averaged 9.4 points per game, but his three-point shooting ability helped space the floor. He also knocked down some timely treys during the series, shooting 9-for-24 from beyond the arc in the Heat’s four wins over Boston.
In the first half of Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets tonight, Strus has not had the same amount of success, or any success for that matter.
He’s 0-for-7 from the field and 0-for-6 from three-point range as the Heat trail Denver 59-42 at intermission. Celtics fans are gnashing their teeth at Strus’ struggles considering how he victimized their team the previous round.
“Caleb Martin and Max Strus in the 1st half: 0 pts, 0-12 FG Celtics fans:,” wrote the Action Network on Twitter, sharing the photo of a catatonic Bill Simmons during Game 7 on Monday night.

“Max Strus, Celtics killer, is killing the Heat…0-6 from three. Can’t even come close,” Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless added.

“Max Strus and Caleb Martin 0/12 combined this is who the Celtics let send them home?” a Thunder fan asked.

We’ll see if Strus can get things turned around in the second half, which is now underway on ABC.
