Celtics' Derrick White confident heading into Game 2 vs. Bucks: 'Everything can change in one game'

May 3, 2022 by Celtics Wire

It seems it is not just former Boston Celtics champion center Kendrick Perkins whose faith in his former team winning their East semis series with the Milwaukee Bucks has not been shaken after Boston’s 101-89 loss to the defending NBA champs.

Speaking to the media after practice on Monday, reserve guard Derrick White also projected confidence when asked how he felt about the urgency of a Game 2 win for the Celtics. “It’s the playoffs, and anything can change off of one game,” he said. “We’ve got to put that behind us, (and) move on to this Game 2, it’s going to be a huge game for us.”

Explaining that the team needs to “come out with the right sense of urgency” while being ready to go, White reminded us that “everything can change in one game.”

The Celtics, for all White’s positivity, will face a very tough road forward if they lose, with a need to win four out of the five games that would remain in the seven-game series — and without homecourt advantage to boot.
