Newest Boston Celtics draft pick Juhann Begarin spoke with the Boston media for the first time soon after being announced as part of the team’s now 11-man Las Vegas Summer League roster, sharing some details about his plans to make the trip to Sin City after a pre-summer league practice.
Begarin, taken by the Celtics with the 45th overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft, is a native of Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, an overseas department of France in the lesser Antilles of the Caribbean. Speaking with the press in something other than his native tongue, there was perhaps a bit of a language barrier to overcome, but Begarin seemed confident just the same.
Asked if he had spent much time in the United States, Begarin replied, “No. Just one time for [Basketball Without Borders] in Chicago.
