Boston Celtics guard Derrick White spent his recent off day mingling with new parents at a recent community event hosted by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Point32Health, and Boston Medical Clinic. The Tuesday event included giveaways, photo ops, and tips for young BMC patient families. The event was meant to celebrate the partnership’s Curbside Care program, an initiative seeks to bring pediatric and midwife services to people throughout Boston as part of the Shamrock Foundation’s $25-million, ten-year effort to address racial injustice and social inequity in the Boston area. About a dozen families met at the Auerbach Center in Boston to learn about healthy eating and to spend time with Derrick White, who was accompanied by his wife Hannah and their sons Hendrix and Daxton. Afterward, White reflected on his experience as a young father as well as working with the Celtics to make in an impact in the community.
