Tyler Tucker Injured in Game 4

April 28, 2025 by Last Word On Hockey

St. Louis Blues defenceman Tyler Tucker was injured late in the team’s convincing win against the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4 of the first-round series.

The injury happened with just over four minutes left in the third period. Tucker went down in the corner behind his own net and his right leg bent backwards as he hit the ice. As he was helped off the ice, Tucker put very little weight on his right leg.

We will not speculate as to the extend of the injury. It certainly looks like it could be a serious one. However, that information will be revealed by the Blues in due time.

Game-Winner in Game 4

Tucker was inserted into the lineup for Game 2, but he did struggle in his playoff debut. The Blues, however, kept Tucker in the lineup in Game 3. The young defenceman showed it was the right move by playing a much better game. In Game 4, Tucker scored his first-career playoff goal, which ended up being the game-winning goal in a 5-1 win that tied the series.

Looking Ahead

Game 5 will not be until Wednesday. The Blues will have two days to figure out the extend of Tucker’s injury. If Tucker cannot play in Game 5, it is likely that veteran Ryan Suter will rejoin the lineup. Suter has sat the last two games after playing in the first two.
