After an entire day of hammering out the details, it is at long last official!

It broke at some point on Wednesday that Taylor Hall and the Bruins had come to some form of agreement regarding a new contract, which is always good!

And then…they spent more than a day hammering out bonus structures and all that good stuff that they send in to CapFriendly or Bobbins the Cap Compliance Gnome whoever to make sure it works.

So while everyone was under the assumption this deal was more or less done, it wasn’t made 100% true blue official until today: the B’s announced this evening that Hall is back in the fold for 4 years, with a cap hit of $6 million per season.

In a press release, GM Don Sweeney had this to say:

“The Bruins are excited that Taylor wanted to remain a Boston Bruin and we are thrilled to have signed him to a multi-year contract,” said Sweeney. “He is an impact player that brings speed, scoring, skill and two-way commitment to our lineup. He fit seamlessly into our locker room and will be an integral part of our organization’s goal to compete for the Stanley Cup.”

Hall, as you no doubt know, has finally made it to the first team he’s ever played for that actually prioritizes winning, and understandably had a “career renaissance” after making it to Boston, a phrase wherein used here is “he wasn’t playing for the Buffalo Sabres”. It should go without saying that he’s pretty good!

So welcome back Taylor, we’ll see you this preseason back in black and gold!
