Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are scheduled and offers insight and analysis to help predict who will be victorious in head-to-head matchups. In today’s round of NHL Predictions, we are looking at the game between the Edmonton Oilers vs Boston Bruins. Be sure to check out more NHL Predictions as the 2024-25 season continues.

Edmonton Oilers vs Boston Bruins

Head-to-Head: Oilers 1-0 Bruins

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: NESN; SN West; SN1; ESPN+

We start NHL predictions with the Oilers taking on the Bruins in a primetime matchup. Edmonton is expected to start Stuart Skinner in beteween the pipes for this one. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Oilers are 7-2-1 in the last 10 games, including three straight victories. Leon Draisaitl has been playing well all season with 29 goals and 30 assists for Edmonton. Zach Hyman has been great as of late with six goals and four assists over the last 10 games.

Jeremy Swayman is the projected starter for Boston, which is 4-4-2 in the last 10 games. It seems that the new coach bounce from interim boss Joe Sacco has ended. This includes a four-game losing streak for the Bruins coming into this one. Pavel Zacha has posted nine goals and 12 assists for Boston. David Pastrnak has been one of the bright spots as of late with six goals and four assists over the past 10 games.

Boston has been actually solid at home, but Edmonton gets the victory.

Prediction: Oilers win 4-2.

Vegas Golden Knights vs San Jose Sharks

Time: 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: SN1; NBC Sports California; Scripps Vegas; ESPN+

The last game of NHL predictions has the Vegas Golden Knights visiting the San Jose Sharks. Vegas is likely to start with Ilya Samsonov is goal for this game. The Golden Knights are 8-2 in the last 10 games, including two consecutive victories. Jack Eichel been piling up the points with 11 goals and 41 assists for Vegas. Brett Howden has totaled five goals and added four assists over the last 10 games.

San Jose is expected to start Yaroslav Askarov in the blue paint for this game. The Sharks have gone 2-7-1 in the last 10 games. However, they have been playing better with wins in the last two games. Fabian Zetterlund has notched 11 goals with 15 assists for San Jose. Top overall draft pick Macklin Celebrini has collected three goals and six assists over the past 10 games.

The Sharks have played much better as of late, but the Golden Knights have been on another level as of late.

Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-2.

Prop Bets of the Night

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets. On the Oilers side, go with Connor McDavid to net a goal at +140. For the Bruins, take Brad Marchand to light the lamp at +210. These odds are courtesy of Bet365.
