Welcome back to NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are scheduled and offers insight and analysis to help predict who will be victorious in head-to-head matchups. In today’s round of NHL Predictions, we are looking at the game between the Philadelphia Flyers vs Toronto Maple Leafs. Be sure to check out more NHL Predictions as the 2024-25 season continues.

NHL Predictions

New York Rangers vs Chicago Blackhakw

Head-to-Head: Rangers 0-1 Blackhawks

Time: 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: Sportsnet; ABC

We open NHL predictions with an “Original Six” matchup between the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. The Blueshirts are 2-8 in the last 10 games and will likely go with Louis Domingue in goal for this one. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy goalie. Artemi Panarin has been one of the brights spots with 16 goals and 22 assists for the Rangers.

Petr Mrazek is the expected starter for Chicago, which is 4-6 in the last 10 games. The Blackhawks did surprise the Rangers, 2-1, in the first meeting of the season. Ilya Mikheyev has been solid as of late with five goals and one assist over the last 10 games.

Both teams are struggling as of late, but the Rangers get a rare win.

Prediction: Rangers win 3-2.

Philadelphia Flyers vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: SNO; NBC Sports Philadelphia; ESPN+

Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Flyers visiting the Maple Leafs. Philadelphia is projected to go with Ivan Fedotov in goal for this game. The Flyers are 4-6 in the last 10 games heading into this matchup. Tyson Foerster has tallied lifive goals and three assists over the last 10 games.

The Leafs are expected to go with Dennis Hildeby in goal after playing the night before. Toronto is coming into this game having won seven of the last 10 games. The Maple Leafs have also taken the last three games. William Nylander has been excellent this season with 23 goals and 20 assists for Toronto.

It’ll be tough with two games in two nights. However, the Leafs should pick up the victory.

Prediction: Maple Leafs win 4-3.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs Anaheim Ducks

Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: SN 360; Fan Duel Sports Sun; KCOP; ESPN+

The last game of NHL predictions has the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Anaheim Ducks. Jonas Johansson is the projected starter for the Lightning, who have lost the last three games in a row. However, Tampa Bay is coming into this one with a 6-4 mark in the last 10 games. Jake Guentzel has been on a great pace as of late with seven goals with five assists over the last 10 games.

Lukas Dostal is the expected starter for the Ducks, who are 6-4 in the last 10 games. Anaheim is 8-11-1 at home this season. Troy Terry has one of the Ducks’ better players lately with five goals and four assists over the last 10 games.

Tampa Bay has been struggling as of late, but should rebound here.

Prediction: Lightning win 4-2.

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets. Let’s focus on the featured game for our preferred props. On the Flyers side, go with Travis Konecny to have a multi-point night at +360. For Toronto, take John Tavares to score at +180. These odds are courtesy of FanDuel.
