NHL Predictions

Montreal Canadiens vs Washington Capitals

Head-to-Head: Canadiens 0-2 Capitals

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: TSN2; Monument Sports Network; ESPN+

Our featured game has the Capitals going for the season sweep of the Canadiens. Rookie goalie Jakub Dobes is the confirmed starter for Montreal, which is 8-2 in the last 10 games. Dobes has a 0.48 goals-against-average and won both of his starts so far. Patrik Laine has been outstanding since coming off the injured list with five goals and added one assist over the past 10 games.

Logan Thompson is the expected starter for the Capitals. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Washington is 6-2-2 in the last 10 games and is first place in the Metropolitan Division. Pierre-Luc Dubois has been averaging a point a game as of late with two goals and nine assists over the last 10 games.

Dobes has been great, but the Capitals are second in goals scored at 3.66 per game. Washington will hand Dobes his first career NHL setback.

Prediction: Capitals win 4-2.

San Jose Sharks vs Utah Hockey Club

Head-to-Head: Sharks 1-1 Utah Hockey Club

Time: 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: NBC Sports California; Utah16; SN1; ESPN+

Our last game of NHL predictions has the San Jose Sharks taking on the Utah Hockey Club. The Sharks are slated to go with Alexandar Georgiev in between the pipes for this game. San Jose is 2-7-1 in its last 10 games heading into this one. However, there seems to be tangible progress with the team. First overall selection Macklin Celebrini has netted scored three goals with five assists over the past 10 games.

Utah is likely to go with Karel Vejmelka in the blue paint for this game. It’s been a struggle at home for Utah as it’s dropped the last four games at home. In the last 10 games, Utah is 3-5-2 in the last 10 and taken losses in the last two games. Team captain Clayton Keller has tallied four goals and eight assists over the past 10 games.

Both teams are struggling as of late, but Utah takes the home win to stop the streak. San Jose has been pretty beat up with injuries and that will be tough for them to overcome.

Prediction: Utah Hockey Club wins 5-2.

Prop Bets of the Night

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets for this evening’s set of game. For Washington, go with Alex Ovechkin to score at any time at +100. On the Montreal side of things, go with Cole Caufield to score at any juncture at +210. These odds are courtesy of Bet365.
