NHL Predictions

Ottawa Senators vs Nashville Predators

Head-to-Head: Senators 1-0 Predators

Time: 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)

TV: Amazon Prime Video (Canada); Fan Duel Sports South; ESPN+

We have only one game this Monday night as the Senators look to complete the season sweep of the Predators in the Music City. Ottawa won the first meeting of the season, 3-1, in the Canadian capital. Linus Ullmark made 36 saves and Tim Stutzle dished out a pair of assists for the Sens. Fedor Svechkov spoiled Ullmark’s shutout bid with a late goal for Nashville.

This edition of NHL predictions will take a deep dive into the storylines and trends heading into this lone game in the league tonight.

The Senators Story

Ottawa is rolling right now with a 7-2-1 mark in the last 10 games. This also includes four straight victories for the Sens entering this matchup. The Senators are in third place in the Atlantic Division, which means they hold the last automatic post-season spot.

Ullmark is the scheduled starter for the Senators, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Stutzle has tallied 17 goals and 35 assists for Ottawa so far this season. Joshua Norris has notched four goals and added three assists over the last 10 games.

The Predators Story

It’s been a disappointing campaign for Nashville this season. The Predators were thought to build off of last season’s surprising campaign. However, that was not the case. General manager Barry Trotz made plenty of major signings. However, it would take a miracle for a return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Juuse Saros is the expected starter for Nashville, which is 5-5 in the last 10 games. The Predators have dropped the last four games entering this one. Filip Forsberg continues to be one of the team’s best players with 18 goals and 31 assists for the Predators. Steven Stamkos has turned it around after a slow starter with five goals and two assists over the past 10 games.

Prediction

Ottawa’s form has just been impressive as of late. Nashville’s bad patch as of late is just a summation of its struggles for the entire season. The Senators are playing well in on the defensive end and that will carry them to a victory.

Prediction: Senators win 3-1

Prop Bets of the Night

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. We’ve seen the over/under number at 5.5 for this one and playing the under could be a good play with the way Ottawa’s defence has been playing.

For player props, go with Brady Tkachuk to get the over on 0.5 points in this one. On the Nashville side, take Jonathan Marchessault to score a goal in this one.
