It has arrived, folks.
Welcome to a new week, folks!
Summer has arrived in New England, both literally (with the first day of summer this weekend) and vibe-wise (with temperatures well into the 90s all weekend and beyond).
The Florida Panthers helped cement summer status last week by ending the NHL season with another Stanley Cup, so this week kind of marks the first full week of the true offseason.
Those Panthers probably still have plenty of partying on their to-do list, while the rest of us just watch from home. It’s fine.
On the collective mind in NHL circles: the upcoming draft, free agency, offer sheets, etc.
There are plenty of rumors floating around, including surrounding the Bruins.
The B’s and Islanders have supposedly been engaged in talks around the B’s first-round pick and a whole cast of Islanders, depending on who you believe.
There’s plenty of chatter about where former Bruin Brad Marchand will end up, though I feel like he’ll probably stay in Florida.
Then there’s the “it’s never too early to have a take” intrigue with Connor McDavid, who can become a free agent after next season.
In other words, we are firmly in the midst of the silly season.
As a reminder, the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft will be on Friday, so there will be some actual Bruins-related happenings this week.
In addition, development camp kicks off a week from today, with the Bruins youths gathering at Warrior Arena starting on Monday.
Lastly, the Bruins dropped a little bit of intrigue into your Sunday night when they shared the Tweet below late yesterday:

While we’re doing a lot of “fill in the blanks” here, it appears the team will reveal their newly redesigned jerseys on Wednesday, potentially with David Pastrnak’s featuring a new letter.
There have been rumors (and prototype sightings) pointing towards the B’s returning to the 80s-era style of jersey, so…we’ll see.
As for the captaincy, that’s reading between the lines, but Pastrnak should 100% be the team’s next captain and there’s really no other viable option.
Guess we’ll find out in a few days!
What’s on tap for your day/week?
