Fantasy Hockey Week 7 Players to Add

November 18, 2024 by Last Word On Hockey

Another week of the NHL season has come and gone, so now it is time to strategize and identify 2024 fantasy hockey Week 7 streamers. Week 7 is a good week to stream players, with the only heavy days coming on Thursday and Saturday. When planning your streamers for the week, try to find players playing on the lighter days and teams with more games throughout the week. Here are a few of the best 2024 fantasy hockey Week 7 streamers to add to your team.

Frank Vatrano (LW/RW) – Anaheim Ducks

Frank Vatrano had a career year last year with the Ducks. Playing all 82 games, Vatrano scored 37 goals and had 60 points. Coming into this season, many fantasy managers naturally expected some negative regression. In 15 games played this season, Vatrano has two goals and seven points. He is on his lowest goal-scoring pace since 2017. After being drafted in 88% of leagues on Fantrax, he is now only rostered in 65%.

That being said, Vatrano is a career 10.6% shooter and has been converting on just 4.1% of shots this season. He is due for some positive regression. Furthermore, Vatrano still has elite-level shot volume, registering 49 SOG this season, nearly at his 272 pace from last year. In five of his last six games, the forward has had three or more SOG, including a nine-shot game. Additionally, Vatrano has points in his last three games and looks like he is starting to regain form. If he does, he won’t only be one of the best 2024 fantasy hockey week 7 streamers but could be a league winner.

Fabian Zetterlund (LW/RW) – San Jose Sharks

Fabian Zetterlund is doing a bit of everything right now for the Sharks. Playing over 17 minutes a night on average with 2:06 TOI on the power play, Zetterlund is proving to be a great fantasy hockey asset. The 25-year-old appears to be in the midst of a breakout season and is widely available in free agency. Moreover, through 18 games, Zetterlund has put up seven goals and 12 points, a career-high pace. His shooting percentage at 17.1% may be unsustainable, but his high shot volume is a good sign for fantasy managers.

In addition to his point totals, Zetterlund is hitting over twice a game on average. Coupling that with a block per game and over two shots per game, Zetterlund has a safe floor in fantasy hockey. The Sharks play four times next week, so adding Zetterlund is a smart move to maximize your games played.

Travis Sanheim (D) – Philadelphia Flyers

There are not a ton of viable defencemen options that are widely available at this point of the season, so sometimes you have to ride a hot hand. Enter Travis Sanheim of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Sanheim has six points in his last six games dating from November 5th – 16th. On the season, Sanheim is averaging over two shots and two blocks per game, giving him a decent floor in category leagues. He also currently has the highest xGF/60 in his last five seasons. Where Sanheim shines is his TOI, where he is currently averaging over 25 minutes per game. In the Flyers’ most recent game against the Sabres, Sanheim had a season-high 1:23 TOI on the power play. This could be an indication that head coach John Tortorella may start giving Sanheim more man-advantage time, which would increase his fantasy value.

Some historical trends play into this stream too, as Sanheim was a streaky fantasy hockey player last season, having bursts of point production followed by stretches of pointless games. Consider taking a flyer on this Flyer in Week 7 and taking advantage of a potential hot streak.

Honourable Mentions: Troy Terry – ANA, Radko Gudas, ANA – William Eklund, SJ – Mackenzie Blackwood, SJ – Karel Vejmelka – UTA, Nick Schmaltz – UTA
