Fantasy Hockey Week 12: Weekend Streamers to Help You Win Your Matchup

December 28, 2024 by Last Word On Hockey

2024 fantasy hockey week 12

The NHL is about to resume action after a three-day break and the 2024 fantasy hockey Week 12 weekend will determine this week’s winners. Eight games are being played on Friday, so you should have open roster spots. The best strategy for this weekend is to add a player who is playing on Friday and one of Saturday or Sunday as well. Because it is a short week and you likely still have pickups remaining, streaming a player for Friday and Saturday and then dropping them for another player with a game on Sunday is the best way to maximize your games played this week. Here’s a look at some of the best 2024 fantasy hockey week 12 weekend streamers.

Fantasy Hockey Week 12 Weekend Streamers

Columbus Blue Jackets First Line

Columbus’ first line of Sean Monahan, Kirill Marchenko, and Dmitri Voronkov has been buzzing lately. While Marchenko is up to 84% owned on Fantrax, Monahan and Voronkov may still be available for a weekend add. Both are getting great deployment on the Blue Jackets top power play and have combined for three power play points within their last four games.

Voronkov is the most available option on the Blue Jackets this weekend. He is only 36% rostered on Fantrax but has been on a tear. Voronkov is on a five-game point streak, producing three goals and seven points in that span. He has been getting a significant boost in ice time lately, consistently getting more minutes than his season-average TOI.

Adding one of these players on Columbus would allow you to also pick up a player for a game on Sunday. If one of these players is available, their hot play could continue and help you win your 2024 fantasy hockey week 12 match-up.

Toronto Maple Leafs Depth Players

The Toronto Maple Leafs depth has been tested this season as the team has dealt with plenty of injury problems. With Leafs captain Auston Matthews out dealing with an injury, an opportunity has opened for Max Domi. Domi has not had the greatest season so far but does have five points in his last five games. Domi will be centring a line with Nick Robertson, who has recently seen his best stretch of the season, and William Nylander.

Both Robertson and Domi are under 30% rostered on Fantrax and are good options for adds this weekend as their second-line deployment should result in more ice time and hopefully scoring chances.

Domi and Robertson’s recent successes came when they formed a new-look third line with Bobby McMann. McMann, like Domi, has had to deal with some injuries this season. He offers more peripheral coverage for fantasy hockey than Domi or Robertson, making him slightly more appealing. He averages just under two hits per game and two and a half SOG per game. McMann just had a four-game, six-point streak end in their recent loss to the Jets.

With games on Friday and Saturday for the Maple Leafs, these depth players make for good adds in leagues where there are no better options available.

Sunday Streamers: Dylan Holloway and Michael Bunting

If you structure your streamers where you can pick up a player for a game on Sunday, consider Dylan Holloway or Michael Bunting.

Starting with Holloway, his shot and hit volume this season have been solid. This allows for a safe floor in fantasy hockey. He has also had stretches of strong point production, including a seven-game point streak that ended mid-December. In his most recent game, he recorded a hat trick on three SOG, with three hits and a block. He has not had a game this season where he hasn’t contributed positively in fantasy hockey.

Micheal Bunting has had a good month of fantasy hockey. In his last ten games, Bunting has tallied eight points, including three on the power play. His peripherals aren’t as great as Holloway’s, but he has over a hit and two SOG per game this season. He is playing second line alongside Evgeni Malkin and has top power play deployment where he has access to Sidney Crosby. With Rickard Rakell being added quickly in leagues, Bunting is the best remaining forward in Pittsburgh and good weekend stream.
