A new face in the mix.
The Bruins announced this morning that they’ve signed college free agent Dalton Bancroft to a one-year contract with an NHL cap hit of $950,000.
Bancroft, who is 24 years old, just finished his third season at Cornell.
He had 36 goals and 46 assists for 79 points in 103 career games with the Big Red.
Bancroft is a right shot right wing who checks in at 6’3″, 207 pounds.
He attended Bruins Development Camp last summer, which may have given the B’s an edge in getting his signature; teams like Tampa and Edmonton were also said to be interested.
Bancroft will finish the year in Providence on an ATO.
